Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced the renewal of Russian counter-sanctions until the end of 2018
the Current response to the EU sanctions will be extended until 31 December 2018. This was stated by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
"Yesterday, the EU extended sanctions, once again, politics took precedence over economy. The government will submit the proposal to extend the counter another year, until 31 December 2018", − quotes his words to RBC.
Medvedev also added that the question of the renewal of the food embargo has already been discussed with President Vladimir Putin.
According to the Prime Minister, the extension of the sanctions will contribute to the protection of national interests and the support of the Russian agricultural sector. Dmitry Medvedev expressed the hope that the domestic producers "will be able to take advantage of these opportunities in full".
